What types of lesson formats are available?
You can attend any class you like for a single session. As we offer four distinct course themes, please see the Course List for more details on each.
Could you please explain the flow of a typical lesson?
①Book your class online via our website.
②Complete the pre-class survey sent via email.
③We will email you the shopping list for ingredients and the Google Meet link.
④On the day of the class, join the session using the Google Meet link.
What preparations are needed to take the lessons?
Ingredients:

What happens if I can't attend a scheduled lesson?
You can change your reservation date up to 2 days prior to the scheduled class. To do so, please send your desired new date via the contact form. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend on the day, we will send you a link to the class recording (archive video). If you have any questions, please contact us via email.
Can beginners keep up with the pace of the lessons?
We teach the basics of how to make Japanese food, so anyone is welcome to join. We conduct the class at a pace that matches the participants.
Since I can't speak Japanese, do I need to study Japanese?
It's okay if you don't speak Japanese! The class will be conducted by an instructor who speaks both English and Japanese. Plus, simple Japanese language lessons are also incorporated into the session.
What should I do if I need ingredients that aren't sold at the supermarket?
Generally, we will provide you with a shopping list in advance featuring ingredients that can be purchased locally. If you are unsure what to buy, please contact us. You can still attend the class even if you don't have absolutely all the ingredients ready.
Are there any rules for taking the online course?
If possible, we kindly ask you to participate with your camera on and your microphone ready. We want to foster a feeling that we are all cooking together with you.
